During our vacancy, we have been blessed by the regular preaching of our Elders, Deacons and guest preachers. One of our elders, Peter Whan, has been preaching through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, helping us to see and understand better the depth of practical application for how we live as Christians.
Parables!
Our final Kallangur series for 2016 and into 2017 is “Parables”, which will explore over ten talks selected parables of Jesus. The parables are some of the most readily remembered teachings of Jesus, and make up a significant part of the recorded ministry of Jesus. Our studies through the important lessons of the parables will therefore include:
- Introduction to the Parables (Matthew 13:10-17)
- Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 13:24-43)
- Prayer (Luke 18:9-14)
- Response to the Word (Matthew 13:1-24)
- Lost & Found (Luke 15:1-7)
- Building real Treasure (Luke 16:1-13)
- Forgiveness (Matthew 18:21-35)
- Being prepared for End Times (Luke 14:16-24)
- Meeting the End Times
- Who is our neighbour?
Sermons for the series will be available below shortly after each talk.
Knowing Jesus in the Psalms
Our Kallangur series commencing in August is “Knowing Jesus in the Psalms”, exploring selected Psalms to show how the old testament teachings help us to understand who Jesus is, why He came and what this means for us.
Our talk topics will include:
- Psalm 1 – Introduction to the Psalms
- Psalm 2
- Psalm 8
- Psalm 16
- Psalm 22
- Psalm 23
- Psalm 40
- Psalm 45
- Psalm 110
- Psalm 118
Sermons for the series are available below.
Parables of Jesus
During His earthly ministry Jesus taught using over forty parables. These are therefore a significant part of the teachings recorded in the gospels and it is helpful for us to study them in detail.
As called upon to preach, Tim Dean, one of our Deacons, will be helping us to study the parables of Jesus in a series following a basically chronological order that the parables were taught. This is an occasional series and sermons will be added below as preached.
Additional information is also being compiled to help the congregation in the study of parables. This is available here.

Marks of a True Christian
We have the blessing during our vacancy of receiving a series of sermons by Luke Zylstra, retired Missionary and Teaching Elder, and now a member of the PRC Everton Park. Luke is preaching on character exhibited by the citizens of the Kingdom of God, looking at each of the blessed attributes Jesus taught about in the ‘Sermon on the Mount’.
